Online teacher coaching that strengthens staff development and classroom practice

Coaching is the basis of what every great teacher does, whether they realise this or not. A great teacher seeks out more knowledge, asks themselves what is needed to make their class work, has an introspective view on their methodology and, like every teacher, they take things from other admired professionals.

Coaching may have a certain stigma to it where people would say it's a bit 'out there' and they don't have 'the time to do it'. The real answer is they don't have the time to not do it. By doing this course it provides perspective on what is important in your role, what is in your control and what you cannot affect. What will happen if you do something, but more importantly what if you don't? Allowing that time to reflect and strategise allows for holistic development and thus a better balanced and self-aware person.

By doing this course, I got a chance to spend that time on myself which you don't get in a teaching career. I got to reflect on how I was putting energy into the wrong parts and this allowed me to better manage my time. It also helped me understand others viewpoints and work more collaboratively in a mutually respectful way. This allowed me to further my career and become better at my job naturally. It's something I see myself doing for the rest of my time in work and at home.

The coaching platform really made me sit back and reflect on not only myself as a person but where I am currently in my career and where I see it going. The questions allowed me to dive into certain elements of my life that I did not even think about prior to taking the course. This then enabled me to really think about what I have achieved so far with my career and where I want to end up in years to come.

I was also able to get the opinion of colleagues and it was reassuring to know that I am having a positive impact in my workplace. I found the course really straightforward and simple to follow and the modules flowed nicely into one another; there was a clear sequence and reason behind each question/module/step.

In regards to moving forward, I now have a clearer outline of what I want to do and the things I need to put in place in order to achieve this. The course has given me the insight, boost and drive I needed to pursue further in my career.
